This pathway meets requirements for the Associate of Arts Direct-Transfer Agreement (AA-DTA) degree with a concentration in ethics in technology. Completion of this degree opens doors to a variety of careers in sectors including technology, non-profits, business, healthcare and education. It allows you to transfer at the junior level into the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree program at North Seattle College.  It also allows you to transfer at the junior level into Philosophy and related majors at a four-year college or university.

Students in this pathway develop skills in computational tools and theory, problem solving, analytical and critical thinking, ability to understand different perspectives, apply concepts in real world situations, interpret ideas and enrich communication skills, information management (note taking, academic research, outlining, charting), developing and evaluating ethical frameworks, identifying social justice issues in the context of understanding advancement in technology and its relationship to human experience.

Before Quarter One

Step 1: Apply and register at North Seattle College anytime (the application is always free). Once you become a student, register for classes using the online class schedule and go to the academic calendar for registration dates and tuition deadlines.

Step 2: See an advisor to create a personalized educational plan by the end of your second quarter. Your plan will include prerequisites, graduation requirements, and transfer preparation if you plan to transfer to another college or university to earn a bachelor's degree.

  • A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at North Seattle College; A Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy, Informatics or a related field at a four-year college or university.
  • A Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree at one of the Seattle Colleges or Washington State Community and Technical Colleges.
