You need an official credit evaluation if you want credits from another college or university applied toward degree or certificate requirements at North Seattle College. Official credit evaluations may take up to 8 weeks. Students should meet with an advisor or program faculty coordinator if an entry code is needed for placement into a class at North based off of classes taken at a previous college. See the Academic Calendar for important registration and financial dates.
Steps to Apply for Credit Evaluation
Step 1: Apply for Admissions
To qualify for an evaluation of incoming credits, you must be a new student admitted to the college for the current or upcoming quarter, or a returning student who has been actively enrolled at North Seattle College within the past four years. If you are a returning degree-seeking student who hasn’t attended in more than four years, contact Advising to update your academic plan prior to applying for a credit evaluation. Haven’t applied for admissions yet? Get started here.
Step 2: Provide Transcripts
Send all official college transcripts, military transcripts, Advanced Placement (AP) scores, International Baccalaureate (IB) scores, international college transcripts and agency evaluations to North Seattle College, ATTN: Records and Transcripts, 9600 College Way North, Seattle, WA 98103-3599. Hand delivered transcripts are only accepted if they are sealed. We will not accept unofficial or opened transcripts, or opened international agency reports. At this time, North Seattle College does not accept transcripts via email. Electronic transcript options are only available from other WSCTC schools. When your transcripts are received, you will get an email from our records office. There will also be a note placed in Degree Audit. Verify transcripts are received before completing Step 4.
Step 3: Decide on Program
Only degree or certificate-seeking students should apply for an official credit evaluation. You can only select one program of study to have your transcripts evaluated against. Undecided? Speak with an advisor for help narrowing down the choices. Advisors can also look over your unofficial transcripts when discussing your degree options and issue entry codes for class placement.
Step 4: Submit Application
Follow steps 1-3 prior to submitting your application. Complete the Application for Evaluation of Incoming Credits form. This form must be complete and signed and may be returned to firstname.lastname@example.org, by mail, in person with photo ID at the ARRC front counter, or by fax to (206) 934-3671.
Your evaluation results will be emailed to you within 8 weeks. Get information about next steps while you wait!
