International Credits

International Transcript Policy

When requesting an official credit evaluation from North Seattle College, students are required to submit the official transcripts from their home country, as well as a translation into English by an approved evaluation service. Students must submit 3 types of official documentation for all international transcripts:

  • Official transcripts
  • English translation
  • Course by course evaluation report

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts are original documents issued by the institution, which bear a signature of the Registrar and the seal of the issuing institution.

English Translations

We require all transcripts be submitted in the original language, accompanied by an English translation by a third-party agency. The agency should give you your translations in a sealed envelope. Do not open the envelope as that will void the verification.

Course by Course Evaluation Report

We require an official course by course evaluation report completed by a NACES or an AICE approved organization.

International Credits Evaluation Procedure

Follow all of the "Steps to Apply for Credit Evaluation" listed HERE, but submit the officially sealed agency evaluation and your international college transcript as Step 2.

Please note: International credits accepted for transfer into North for degrees or certificates will not necessarily be recognized at any other domestic university or college. Not all U.S. universities or colleges use international evaluation/translation agencies.

It is recommended that students contact the universities and colleges they plan to attend to see what procedures should be followed when transferring international credits.
