Pathways Overview
Program Pathways are a series of courses and experiences carefully selected to help you earn your credential and prepare for your career or university transfer. Program Pathway Maps guide you through quarter-by-quarter coursework, indicate when you’ll need to complete important steps, and describe popular careers in this pathway. Some course sequences or recommended courses can be customized or adjusted by speaking with an advisor.

Two-year transfer degrees let you take your freshman and sophomore classes at Seattle Colleges for a fraction of the cost, and then transfer to a four-year university with the skills and confidence to succeed. Be sure to work with a transfer advisor at Seattle Colleges and the four-year institution you plan to attend. Depending on your program of study, you can earn either an Associate of Arts (AA-DTA), Associate in Business (AB-DTA), or Associate of Science (AS), Track 1 or Track 2.

Excellent Preparation for Transfer Via North’s Engineering Program
Rigorous Transfer Curriculum
This pathways chart of engineering transfer courses at North will help you plan for an engineering major.
If you are planning to major in mechanical, electrical or other engineering fields at a 4-year institution, North will provide you with excellent preparation for transfer, including many of your math and science prerequisites, as well as engineering transfer courses. You can earn an associate degree in engineering or choose from individual courses if you are already in a 4-year school.
If you want to be prepared for work within two years, North also offers a number of technical programs that prepare you for immediate entry into the working world. Explore careers in Architecture Engineering Technology.
Rigorous Transfer Curriculum
The Engineering Transfer program requires that you complete one year of calculus and one year of calculus-based physics. After that preparation, you can enter a sequence of 3 mechanical engineering courses or 1 electrical engineering course. To round out your transfer preparation, you will also complete some science, advanced math and computer science coursework.
You can apply to transfer directly into the UW engineering department as a junior if you have taken 90 credits distributed appropriately for each department with a satisfactory GPA. You can complete all the lower division classes at North and can expect to do as well as students who started out at UW as freshmen. Students transferring to other 4-year colleges should contact an adviser and plan to complete the AS degree (option 2).
The Engineering program accommodates a wide range of preparation among students. You’ll have one-to-one contact with faculty members who engage directly with you and support your learning, have master’s degrees and experience in the job world, and see teaching as their first objective. Small classes within a traditional classroom format give you great faculty access and the opportunity to get your questions answered.
