SMC SERVICES & RESOURCES:
Get to know SMC services in 2 minutes.

- Media production assistance:
- Presentations
- Visual aids
- Audio and video recording
- Basic use of media software
- Media literacy including basic design and copyright
- SMC tours or class visits
- Media equipment: cameras, lenses, camcorders, tripods, laser pointers, a mobile projector, webcams, drawing tablets, etc. More on equipment services.
- Printing: black & white, color, and custom printing, up to 12" x 18". More on printing services.
- Scanning: high-quality scanners for photos, images, film, negatives, and documents up to 11" x 17"
- Laminating: thermal laminator for sizes up to 11"x17".
Please note users need to bring their own pouches for laminating; 3 mil or 5 mil thickness only. - Media software: access/introduction/basic use such as PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe CC. More on software options.
- Studios: include a projector, computers, an audio mixer, desktop microphones, headphones, lighting kits, and tables for individual or group work.
- Computers: PCs and iMacs
- Poster Making: large tables, poster supplies
- Materials & Tools:
- Papers: standard printing paper (8.5” X 11”), limited free papers in colors, cardstocks, 11” X 17” and 12” X 18” paper sizes, and poster papers
- Others: paper cutter, cutting board, paper punches, heavy-duty stapler, colored pencils, markers, glues, tapes, scissors, rulers, etc.
Please note SMC supplies and materials are limited and can be used at the SMC for academic projects.

Media Production Assistance
We can help you with:

Equipment Lending
If your a NSC student, you can borrow the equipment listed below, for free!
- Cameras, lenses, camcorders, tripods, laser pointers, a mobile projector, webcams, drawing tablets, and more!
Print and Scan
For just 10¢ per color sheet or 5¢ per B&W sheet, you can print in these sizes:
- 8.5” x 11” regular or cardstock
- 9” x 12” regular or cardstock
- 11” x 17” regular or cardstock
- 12” x 18” regular or cardstock
- 8.5” x 11” sticker paper
Pssst - As a student you get $2 printing credit for free every quarter!
We also have two scanners. One is specialized for scanning film negatives and the other can scan up to 11” x 17”.
Poster Supplies
If you want to make a physical poster, we have plenty of supplies to help with that, including:
- Various colors of 8.5” x 11” paper
- Various colors of 22” x 28” construction paper
- 16” x 21.5” paper cutter
- Glue sticks
- X-Acto knives
- Scissors
- Regular and double-sided tape
- Single and three-hole punch
- Regular, heavy duty, and saddle stitch staplers
- Colored pencils and markers
Laminate
We can laminate sizes up to 11” x 17”.
- Please note: If laminating more than 5 sheets, you must bring your own lamination pouches.
Software
In the SMC you can use the entire Adobe creative cloud suite for free. This includes:
- Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and more!
Studios
We have two studios here at the SMC:
- Studio A: Projector and wall to wall whiteboard.
- Studio B: Includes professional lighting, backdrops, cameras, and mics.
Computers
We have 5 Windows computers and 2 iMacs for use by students.
