Preparing to Apply
We are an open access college, and you are welcome here regardless of citizenship or residency status. If you do have a social security number (SSN) or ITIN, including that number on your application will reduce paperwork required to complete the application process for admission and financial aid. There are a few questions to consider to ensure you apply accurately.
First Year: You are a first-time student if you have no previous college experience. You have graduated high school or received your GED and are ready to start college for the first time. OR you are a university student, just taking a class or two and this is your first time at North Seattle College.
Reapplying: Welcome back! If it has been more than three years since you have taken a class at North Seattle College, you are reapplying because it has been over 3 years since you attended.
Transfer: You have attended a college, with or without completing, but have not attended North Seattle College.
Academic: You are seeking an associate's degree with the goal to enter the workforce immediately after graduating or plan to transfer to a 4-year college or university.
Baccalaureate: You are seeking a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree. Learn the meaning of "Applied" in B.A.S (Bachelors of Applied Science). and how it might be the right fit for you here.
*Non-Award Seeking: You are taking a few classes but not planning to complete a degree or certificate with us. Examples – you are interested in taking courses for continuing education, professional development, self-enrichment, and/or to transfer to your home institution. This is perfect for that college student who needs a course or two to complete a degree at a different institution. Complete this class and transfer it.
*This program type is not eligible to receive Financial Aid.
Professional Technical: Also known as Career Training, you are seeking a certificate or degree in an in-demand field. You know what career you want and are looking for a tailored, hands-on program to prepare you.
Transitional Studies: You are seeking programs that provide the education needed to prepare for college and career readiness (adult basic education, high school completion, ESL etc.).
Unsure of exactly what you want to study? No problem! You may select an "Undecided" program plan once you apply for any of the the forementioned Program Types.
Before diving in, you can change your mind at any time and are not locked into the certificate or degree you select during the application process. Know that as an "Undecided" student or if you when you change your program , it may have Financial Aid implications, so you are encouraged to do your best to determine a program prior to applying. Once enrolled, you will have access to your Academic Advisor for additional support.
Check out the Financial Aid & Funding resources available on our website.
FAFSA/WASFA
