To prepare for class registration, please follow these steps:

  1. Get your account ready to add classes:
    1. Activate your ctcLink account
    2. Review the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement (SFRA)
    3. Determine English and/or math placement (if needed)
If you earned college credit previously, gather your unofficial transcripts and/or test results. You may be able to use these for placement.

*Not completing these steps will prevent you from registering for classes

  1. Learn about your program of study:
    1. See what areas of study we offer
    2. Check out our college transfer program pathways
    3. Review course requirements for career training programs

  2. Sign up for a New Student Registration Session. Plan to determine your math and English placement before your session and/or send us your unofficial college transcripts.
    1. If you cannot attend any of the Registration Sessions, schedule an appointment with your Area of Study advisor using Starfish. Learn about Starfish!
  3. Complete the Online Orientation in Canvas and sign up to attend an in-person Campus Connect: Treefrog Days event.

*Just looking to take one class but need help registering? It may not be necessary to meet with an advisor. Submit your request by completing our Advising Contact form.

If you are not intending to earn a degree or certificate at North Seattle College and may be taking 1-3 classes to transfer back to your home institution (such as UW, WWU, etc.), you are not required to meet with an advisor before registering.

Here are answers to common questions from visiting students:

  • Need a permission number for a class where you completed the enrollment requirement at a different college? Fill out this form and attach your unofficial transcript showing how you meet pre-requisites.
  • To confirm if the class you wish to take at North will fulfill requirements at your home institution, please check with your university advisor, or review their equivalency guide.
  • If you are using financial aid from your home institution to pay tuition, you will need to work with your home institution for funding, often by completing a Consortium Agreement with your funding office. North’s advisors only complete these forms for students receiving financial aid at our college.
  • If you are paying your own tuition, consider enrolling in North’s payment plan, available before the quarter begins.

Before you sign up for classes, learn how to use ctcLink, our records and registration system.

If you need assistance registering, please come to drop-in advising.
