Online New Student Orientation

What is New Student Orientation?

New Student Orientation (NSO) is a mandatory online course for all students new to North Seattle College. NSO is available anytime online, making it easy to complete at your own pace. Through this orientation, you’ll receive timely information, learn student success tips, and get connected to essential campus resources to help you start strong.

Students who do not finish NSO will receive a registration Hold on their student account. This will prevent enrollment in future quarters.

How do I get started?

  1. Log into the Canvas website. (Hint: you will need your ctcLink ID# and password. This information was provided to you in your acceptance letter via email.)
  2. After you have logged into Canvas, click the “Enroll in Course” button.

Who needs to do NSO?

All new North Seattle College students who are seeking an associate degree or certificate must complete NSO, unless you meet one of the exemptions below.

  1. Students in the following programs have separate orientations. If you are enrolled in one of these programs, you are welcome to do the online New Student Orientation but are not required.
  2. Students who have completed the online New Student Orientation at South Seattle College or Seattle Central College, or have a completed associate or bachelor's degree.
