CHS and Seattle Promise

Seattle Promise

The Seattle Promise scholars are eligible for up to 90 credits, 3 years, or your first associate degree, whichever comes first. If you have earned college credits in high school through the College in the High School program, those credits are not included in the 90-credit limit. For example, if you earn 20 college credits while still in high school, Seattle Promise would pay for up to 90 additional credits. For more information, please contact the Seattle Promise outreach specialists at your high school.

Benefits of Enrolling in CHS and Seattle Promise

  • If you participate in the Seattle Promise program, your credits will transfer and you’ll have a head start on your degree, finishing earlier which ultimately saves time and money.
  • You’ll avoid paying for fees and textbooks for classes you take at the high school, potentially a huge savings depending upon the number or expense of the books required.
  • If your plans change and you decide to attend a four-year university instead of participating in Seattle Promise, you’ll have those credits that will transfer toward your future degree.

Always check with the specific school for transfer information. The classes you take may fulfil specific degree requirements or be counted as electives.

*The Seattle Promise program backfills your own state or federal financial aid package, filling in gaps if your financial aid package doesn’t quite cover your needs.
