With I-BEST, You Can:

Team-Teaching:

With I-BEST, you will work with 2 teachers in the classroom.

  • One teacher will provide specific job training (for college credit).
  • The other teacher will help you get college-ready in reading, writing, math, or English language.

When 2 teachers team-teach together, you learn better and faster.

Dual Credit: In most cases, you can get high school and college credits at the same time. 

Tuition: Since I-BEST programs are job-training programs, students often get financial aid from Workforce Education to pay for tuition and textbooks.

Current I-BEST Programs at North

I-BEST Electronics

The Electronics I-BEST program offers training and support to help you start a career path in electronics technology. In this program, you can complete two of the foundation classes for programs such as Avionics I: Wire Assembly Certificate, which prepares you for entry-level work building wire bundles for aerospace and electronics manufacturers. Wages start at $16 an hour.

The classes you take in this I-BEST program are also the prerequisite classes for certificates and degrees in Electronics TechnologyHealthcare Technology ManagementIndustrial Power and Control, IT Controlled Electronics, and Mechatronics.

With one of these certificates or degrees, you will be able to find entry-level employment as a technician with an average starting wage of $20 an hour.

Electronics Program


I-BEST Information Technology (IT)

Seattle is a fast-growing, high-tech city that provides many opportunities for entry-level employment in Information Technology (IT). The IT I-BEST program offers team-teacher training and support for two industry-recognized certifications: CompTIA Network+ (basic networking) and CompTIA A+ (hardware support). Both of these certificates can lead to entry-level Help Desk jobs in IT that start at $17 an hour.

I-BEST Accounting Program

The I-BEST Accounting program provides foundation training and support to start a career in accounting. Complete the Bookkeeping Assistant program in just two quarters. Then continue on a path to a job as an accounting clerk, accounts receivable clerk or accounts payable clerk at a wage of $23.40/hour by completing the Bookkeeping or the Computerized Accounting Certificates.

I-BEST Early Childhood Education Program

If your goal is to work in a daycare or become a preschool teacher, or if you are already working with young children and would like to improve your skills and get certified, the I-BEST Early Childhood Education program is your pathway to success.

You can complete the Early Childhood Education Initial Certificates in 2 quarters. Continue on for one more quarter to earn an additional Early Childhood Education Specialization Certificate or enroll in our associate or bachelor’s degree programs!

I-BEST Pharmacy Technician-Certified Program

A Pharmacy Technician assist the pharmacist, counts pills, enter prescriptions, make IV medications & chemotherapy, package medications, compound, medication reconciliation and lots of customer service and communication. This 9-month program will help you get comprehensive career training what will prepare you to pass the certification exam and get a job as a pharmacy tech. Wages start at $23.58/hr.
