The Teaching & Learning Center is committed to supporting comprehensive and transparent use of open education resources (OER) and pedagogy across programs at North Seattle College.
OER involves incorporating teaching, learning, and research materials that are in the public domain or are free and open resources that allow users to retain, reuse, revise, remix and redistribute texts.

Pressbooks
The Seattle Colleges subscribe to Pressbooks, a platform that allows people to create, adapt, share, and publish digital materials. Get inspired by what faculty and staff have created by browsing the Seattle Colleges Pressbooks catalog.
Professional Development
We offer training on Pressbooks and other OER platforms throughout the academic year. Often these take the form of quarterly cohorts or learning communities. We additionally aim to deliver 60 to 90 minute workshops each quarter concentrating on a specific Open Education topic.
