Post Prison Education Program

Description:

The mission of the Post Prison Education Program is to provide educational opportunities to prisoners and returnees in Washington State. Through our "Bridge to College" Program we work with people who have recently been released from prison, helping them transition successfully to college and the work force. We provide our students with these resources:

  • Scholarships
  • Academic advising and career counseling
  • Advocacy and mentoring

Our nontraditional scholarship fund can be used to remove any financial barriers to education and employment (e.g., tuition, textbooks, required school supplies, testing fees, rent, bus passes). Normally, scholarship funds are used to supplement a student's financial aid package, so that the student has sufficient resources to excel in school. Scholarship amounts are awarded on a case by case basis, and are dependent on the financial need of the individual.
