Office Assistant – Admissions Office

Description:

  • This position will be responsible is assisting the Admissions Office. The office assistant will provide customer service to prospective and new students, support a welcoming and professional environment, perform general office/front counter duties, such as answering admissions related and student inquires (in-person and via email), answering incoming calls, light typing, photocopying, processing admissions related forms, and all other duties as assigned.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills are preferred, and knowledge of the campus is recommended. Individuals must be flexible and able to work in a dynamic environment, communicate and work respectfully and effective with persons form diverse backgrounds, such as racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic, and with diverse physical and learning disabilities.

Educational Benefit:

Employees will also learn how to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment and gain administrative experience, such as managing large and complex databases and document management. Employees will also learn how to manage sensitive documentation and information.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Detail oriented, high level of accuracy, dependable and punctual. Applicants must be comfortable talking with people, in-person and on the phone. Experience with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Teams, PowerPoint). Applicants must be awarded or eligible for Work Study funding.  Once hired, maintain eligibility for the work study program.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with North Seattle College’s Enrollment Services (ARRC) policies, procedures, deadlines, and location of offices/services. Knowledge/experience with ctcLink (student management system).
