Associate of Applied Science - Transfer Degree (AAS-T)The Associate of Applied Science - Transfer (AAS-T) degree in Allied Health helps students advance their education and career training in the healthcare field. This degree is for many types of students: students who have already earned a healthcare certificate and want career advancement; students who are interested in starting a career in healthcare; and students who are planning to pursue a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree program in Community Health & Education or Healthcare Services Management.
Students will develop a rounded education in the health sciences while learning to deliver healthcare as part of a team and improving communication and patient advocacy skills. Students will complete 90 credits of coursework, earning an AAS-T degree in Allied Health. Completing this program prepares graduates for quick entry into a variety of high-demand healthcare careers or to transfer into a BAS program to continue their education.

Prerequisites are those classes that prove eligibility for entry-level classes by testing or by having satisfied prior course work. Course work earned at other institutions must be unofficially evaluated or approved by a program advisor before registering.
- Prepare students for successful entry into an allied health program. Other specific prerequisite courses are required for advanced allied health programs.
- Prepare students for entry into an allied health BAS degree program by ensuring they have met the prerequisite course requirements.
- Develop academic background in the health sciences so student can locate and understand theoretical underpinnings of their scope of practice or specialty within Allied Health.
- Appreciate the role of scientific inquiry and the changing nature of evidence based medicine.
- Improve ability to work effectively as a member of health care teams and to better understand how Allied Health professions contribute to health care delivery.
- More effectively advocate on behalf of patients to diverse health care practitioners and patient care teams.
- Improve oral and written communications, spoken communication, critical thinking, and quantitative analysis to reflect college mastery at the Associate's level.
