Students take additional general education electives, making this a good option if you intend to transfer to a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree program or may attend a university in the future to earn a bachelor’s degree.

With North’s BAS degree, AAS degree and certificates in Bookkeeping, Accounting Achievement and Computerized Accounting Technology, you can develop entry-level skills in bookkeeping, get a basic orientation to accounting, get thorough training on the most current computerized accounting software or train to be an accountant with immediate job possibilities.
Bachelor of Applied Science Degree
The Accounting, with International Accounting Bachelor of Applied Science program provides graduates with the knowledge and skills required for employment in the field of accounting. The degree will provide knowledge and skills needed in the occupation, including organization of workload, application of FASB/GAAP principles and GAAS auditing standards, effective business communications, understanding of legal and ethical frameworks for business, intermediate transaction posting and financial statement preparation, and use of general ledger software.
Associate of Applied Science Degree
The 2-year Associate of Applied Science degree program prepares you for immediate and future accounting supervisory positions like staff accountant and assistant bookkeeper. The program includes accounting and business skills, as well as college transfer and supporting courses designed to strengthen your self-assurance and leadership skills.
Bookkeeping Certificate
The Bookkeeping certificate program prepares you for entry-level bookkeeping careers and general office employment. This certificate has been streamlined, now spanning just 3 quarters, helping students take advantage of Worker Retraining.
The curriculum enables you to think critically, formulate values and make decisions, and appreciate and understand your own and other cultures. Course requirements outside the accounting department provide related instruction in support of skills and knowledge necessary in the accounting and general office fields.
