Placement into English Classes
Find information relating to scores and placement here.
If you who have already completed English placement testing or college-level English courses at another institution you may not need to test. Bring unofficial transcripts or placement test results to the Advising office or a START New Student Orientation for review. You will need to re-test if your English placement test scores are more than two years old. (See the Health & Human Services Division regarding program entrance and testing policies for their programs.)
*For information regarding reciprocity, see the Advising Office or International Programs Office.
ESL: North does not accept ESL test scores or courses from other schools for placement into North ESL classes. You will need to take the ESL test at North.
Other Colleges: We accept math results from most placement tests given by accredited colleges or universities in the U.S.* Students retest if their math scores are more than 1 year old.
Seattle Public Schools Students: Use your high school transcript for placement into intermediate algebra or college level math. Find more information on our website at: northseattle.edu/scores/placement-test-scores
