Jewelry and Metals Studio Assistant

Description:

This position will work with the Jewelry and Metals Visual Arts Instructional Technician and Faculty on the North Seattle College campus. Position activities could include any of the following depending on student and studio scheduling:

  • Open and set up the studio before class or open studio sessions (this includes unlocking the studio, turning on equipment, overseeing student safety, etc.)
  • Assist with maintaining a well-run studio space (duties may include cleaning work surfaces, restocking consumable items, participating in tool maintenance objectives.)
  • General organization of tools and materials
  • Archive information and dated materials and equipment
  • Help clean and tidy shared spaces and surfaces around the studio
  • Prep materials for daytime Jewelry + Metals classes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Has experience in 3D art studio/s, or has taken a class in the jewelry and metals studio at NSC.
  • The ability to be flexible with general work duties and daily tasks
  • Excitement and willingness to learn about metalwork/ participate in a community art space.
  • Knowledge about jewelry and metalsmithing tools equipment encouraged but not required.
