Prepare for Real Estate Licensing & Specialty Careers
Convenient, Dynamic Classes
North Seattle College offers pre-licensing real estate broker courses, accredited certificates in Real Estate and Property Management, and is the only college in the Northwest to offer an accredited associate’s degree in Real Estate.
Our program features the pre-licensing courses that prepare students for the real estate broker’s exam and additional education specialties that truly distinguish you from the competition, including finance, sustainability, and property management.
To accommodate working professionals our pre-licensing classes are offered online and so are many of our most popular courses, our on-campus classes are offered at convenient times in the evening and sometimes on Saturday.
All Real Estate courses satisfy Washington State Department of Licensing continuing education requirements. Our approach to the pre-licensing classes equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to pass the Washington state licensing exam and strategically positions you in a competitive industry.
Because real estate affects everyone in the community, all of our classes are open to any student registered at North as long as all, if any, prerequisites are met. Additionally, although we offer an Associate’s degree and two certificates, students can take any and all classes that interest them. Our curriculum also offers state-required continuing education clock hour credits for real estate brokers, property managers, and appraisers.
North’s NEW Associate of Applied Science Transfer (AAS-T) degree in Real Estate offers you a broad base of knowledge and training in residential and commercial real estate sales, property management, real estate finance, real estate development and sustainability, taxes, title, and escrow, and the rapidly expanding field of green real estate.
As you progress toward your degree, you can acquire several certificates to underscore your resume.
Practicing professionals serve as your instructors, providing high-quality content, current information, and tools that immediately apply to your career goals and work environment. Join a mature peer group (average age 38) that coupled with highly competent, successful professional faculty, creates a learning environment that helps you succeed. Our classes specialize in incorporating guest lecturers, hands-on projects, field trips, and credit for outside activities. All on-campus courses are conveniently scheduled on weeknights or Saturdays to accommodate working adults and provide a pathway to learning, certificates, and a degree.
You can begin your study any quarter, including summer. We recommend students start with RES 100 Real Estate Fundamentals. This class provides an excellent overview of the various aspects of the real estate industry and is a prerequisite for many of the other real estate courses, in addition to being one of the REQUIRED pre-licensing courses. The other pre-licensing course, RES 140 Real Estate Sales & Practices, can be taken concurrently with RES 100 whenever they are both offered.
Financial Aid is available for Worker Retraining through Workforce Education, plus we also offer Real Estate Scholarships.
On the forefront of real estate innovation, North’s program offers several classes that explore sustainability in both residential and commercial in Real Estate. Learn about green features and benefits and how to market them to a fast-growing segment of home-buyers and commercial developers committed to green and sustainable real estate homes, offices, and real estate development.
