Workforce Education Application for Winter 2025 funding is online at https://northseattle.edu/workforce-education/workforce-education-application. Please apply as soon as possible! Eligible applicants will need to complete additional steps prior to enrolling into a funding program and receiving funding. The appliction deadline is December 8, 2024 and the application closes on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
Workforce Education is here to assist and support your entry or re-entry into the workforce through career training. We provide financial assistance, basic needs/resource support, job placement assistance, and academic planning.
Workforce Education provides various tuition assistance programs designed to support a student’s personal and professional goals. If you qualify, you may receive funding for tuition fees, textbooks, required supplies, transportation, and more. Each program is unique and provides additional assistance for students.
Our Workforce Education programs include:
- Basic Food Employment & Training Program (BFET): Available to students receiving federally issued Basic Food Benefits (SNAP).
- WorkFirst: Available to students receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Worker Retraining: Available to students who receive or have exhausted unemployment benefit within the last four years, are "displaced homemakers," veterans honorably discharged within the last four years, or formerly self-employed.
- Opportunity Grant: Available to low–income adults pursuing an approved program. Students may receive funds to cover tuition and mandatory fees for up to 45 credits and up to $1,000 for required books and supplies per academic year.
