Marketing & Communications
The Marketing & Communications Office informs the campus and community about North Seattle College, and responds to general information needs from the public. Areas of responsibility include marketing, advertising, media relations, college website (content, guidelines and standards), publications, program brochures, college branding, internal communications, and community relations. For departments creating their own material please use logos approved by the PIO for emails, letterhead, flyers, and web materials.
What we do:
Community Relations
- Respond to community inquiries/requests
External Communications
- Coordinate messages for street reader boards located on 92nd and 100th
- Research, write and distribute press releases
- Respond to news inquiries
- Support new program promotion and materials
- Write news stories for the Newscenter
Internal Communications
- Campus closure notifications
- Coordinate messages for digital signage screens on campus (Grove, Launch Pad, Cashier, etc.)
- Emergency notifications (with Security)
- Events hosted by the President’s Office
- Monthly North News Briefs email to campus. Submit your news or suggestions for the next North News Briefs by sending an email to: northcommunications@seattlecolleges.edu.
Marketing/Advertising
- Advertising, including digital and print ads, direct mail, special events and partnerships
- Create unique identity for North
- Ensure consistency of our “brand” to the community
- Maintain public awareness about the college
- Support enrollment goals
Publications (many of which also go on the web)
- Brochures for programs and services
- Fact sheets and reports
- Flyers
- Invitations to college-wide events
- Postcards
- Posters
Social Media
- Assist college departments in setting up and maintaining a social media presence
- College YouTube site: North Seattle College Marketing and Communications
- Manage and create content for social networking sites – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Flickr, and YouTube
Web Management (Managed by Districtwide Web Team in Collaboration with NSC Communications)
- Create and manage online forms
- Develop web design, features, and applications
- Edit web pages, documents, and photos
- Offer web page planning and support
- Post calendar items
