Preparation & Advancement
A 21st century career in business can mean a challenging position in your local community or dealings within the global marketplace. It can mean a job in advertising or marketing, aerospace, healthcare or manufacturing, in technology or construction, in human resource management or finance, hotel management or real estate — any commodity or service needed in modern life could be your business focus.
In general, the more years of education you get in this field, the more likely you are to specialize and have access to career advancement. In general, 2-year programs introduce you to the field (basics of accounting, marketing, statistics and economics).
With a bachelor's degree you gain more specialized skills. Graduate study affords still greater specialization with emphasis on a branch of business, such as accounting or management information systems, or on how management is applied to a particular field, like public, educational or health administration.
