Purpose
To better understand, coordinate, and enhance student recruitment efforts across North Seattle College, this task force will serve as a collaborative body to assess current practices, identify future needs, and recommend strategies and resources to support recruitment efforts college wide.
Mission and Objectives
Mission:
To help ensure North Seattle College attracts and enrolls a diverse and representative student body through coordinated, inclusive, and strategic recruitment efforts.
Objectives:
- Identify and document all current recruitment activities across departments and programs.
- Determine gaps in recruitment efforts and opportunities for expansion.
- Recommend resources and support structures needed to strengthen recruitment.
- Align college recruitment efforts with district-wide strategies to avoid duplication and maximize impact.
- Provide regular updates and a final report to Cabinet, Leadership Team, and College Council.

- Equity and Access: Recruitment efforts should reflect the college’s commitment to serving all communities equitably.
- Transparency: The task force will operate openly, sharing findings and recommendations with stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Effective recruitment is a shared responsibility across departments and roles.
- Data-Informed Decision Making: Recommendations will be based on evidence and institutional data.
- Continuous Improvement: Recruitment strategies should evolve based on feedback and changing student needs.
Success Criteria
- A comprehensive inventory of recruitment efforts across the college.
- Clear understanding of faculty/staff involvement in recruitment.
- Assessment of current and needed resources.
- Identification of target audiences and gaps in outreach.
- Delivery of a final report by Spring 2026 with actionable recommendations
Membership
Membership will be determined by the President’s Cabinet in collaboration with the deans. It will include:
- Faculty and staff with recruitment responsibilities (formal or informal).
- Representatives from key departments and programs involved in recruitment.
- A representative from the district’s recruitment team.
- Student representation.
- The Director of Communications (initial convener).
- Chair and Co-Chair(s) to be identified.

Meeting Structure and Frequency
• The task force began meeting in Fall 2025.
• Meetings will be held bimonthly to begin, then frequency will be reassessed.
