Happy Holidays! The SMC is closed over the quarter break, and will resume regular services in Winter quarter, January 6, 2025. Students can return late equipment items at the Circulation Desk in the NSC library during SMC closure.

The Student Media Center (SMC) offers media production resources for ALL current North students. The SMC services include tools and assistance for presentations, posters/flyers, printing, scanning, laminating, audio/video recording, and media software including Adobe CC. Enrolled North students can also borrow media equipment for their academic projects for free, such as DSLR cameras, microphones, and webcams. The SMC also offers media studios by walk-in or appointment during our open hours. These studios include PCs and MACs, a projector, spaces for presentation and recording, audio mixers, backdrops, and lighting for photography.  

The SMC team is available both in-person and online.

SMC equipment lending services are available only when the NSC campus/SMC is open or provides curbside pickup services.

ABOUT SMC


The Student Media Center (SMC) is a media production service center at North Seattle College, funded by the Student Leadership. The SMC provides all North students with access to media production resources, assistance, and instruction, enabling them to incorporate audiovisual and print media into their course assignments, college activities, and student clubs. Enrolled North students can also borrow media equipment for their academic projects at no cost. 

As always, the SMC team collaborates with faculty and staff on how students can utilize SMC resources for their media projects and assignments to advance student success.
