Key Request
NSC Key Request Procedure
- Key Request Submission: Only Managers, Department Heads, Deans, and upper administration are authorized to submit key requests for staff members.
- Form Completion and Submission: Complete and submit the Key Request Form embedded below. This form is sent directly to the Lock Shop Supervisor for processing.
- Form Review and Processing: The Lock Shop Supervisor will review the form for completeness and initiate the key cutting or door code generation.
- Key or Door Code Delivery: After the key has been cut or the door code generated, the items will be brought to the Campus Safety and Security Office (CC 1252).
- Identification for Key Pickup: In order to pick up a key or door code, the requestor must present a piece of photo identification.
- Notification of Key Availability: Once the key or door code is ready, an email will be sent from the Safety and Security Office notifying the recipient that the item is available for pickup.
- Key or Door Code Pickup: The recipient may pick up the key or door code at the Safety and Security Office (College Center Room 1252) upon presenting valid photo ID and signing the Key Issuance Agreement.
- Key Return: When a staff member leaves the college, any issued keys must be returned immediately to the Safety and Security Department. The Key Return Form must be completed.
- New Key Request: Keys should not be handed off directly to new or remaining staff members. When a new staff member is hired for the departed employee’s
- Lost or Stolen Keys: Lost keys must be reported immediately using the NSC Lost/Stolen Key Report Form.
