Description:

The barista will provide staffing and customer service for the Lilypad Cafe. This position will greet and serve customers drinks and pastries.
Responsibilities include:

• Preparing coffee and espresso drinks.
• Prepping ingredients and keeping coffee and drink products stocked.
• Restocking and serving pastries from front case.
• Keeping workplace clean and follow food safety guidelines.
• Perform cleaning and side duties during down time or as assigned.

Barista will maintain a clean work environment and report any equipment or facilities issues to the lead or manager.

Educational Benefit:

• This position is flexible and is meant to provide students with work experience.
• They will gain experience working with customers and the public as well as technical coffee and espresso skills.
• They will also learn collaboration and workplace communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Candidates should be reliable, friendly, detail oriented, and able to stay calm under pressure.
• Previous barista experience is not required but preferred.
• A Washington State Food Handler’s card will be required for the role.
• If you do not possess one yet, it will be paid for by NSC Food Services.
