Description:
Students who have experienced state, Federal, or tribal foster care in Washington after the age of 13 are eligible for Passport to Careers. Additionally, unaccompanied homeless youth are now eligible as of July 1, 2019.
How can the Passport to College Promise program help me?
You may receive the following:
- Scholarships and other forms of financial aid that will help pay your tuition and living expenses for up to five years of college.
- Guidance from college academic and financial aid counselors.
- Assistance finding housing during school breaks and over the summer.
- Special consideration for the Washington College Grant and State Work Study financial aid programs.
- Help finding student employment.
Basic eligibility includes:
- Complete FAFSA or WASFA
- Attending an approved institution in WA
- Not pursuing a degree in theology
- Washington resident
- Enroll prior to age 22*
- In foster care at any point after age 13
- Currently experiencing homelessness as an unaccompanied youth
