Library Assistant
Description:
Must be able to work on site any time during these available hours: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 1:30 pm to 7 pm; Fridays, 8:30 am to 4 pm
- Assist patrons with checking out materials and checking in returned materials using the library's computer system.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all patron information and records
- Shelve library materials; shift collections as needed for space considerations.
- Assist with inventory of library collections.
- Help students with setting up their computer login credentials and with using the printer/photocopier/scanner.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Educational Benefit:
- Will earn money to offset educational costs; will learn and develop research skills, computer skills, and customer service skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- No experience necessary, but must demonstrate a pleasant, helpful work attitude.
- Must be willing to learn new skills, including filing accurately.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must follow workplace procedures and policies.
- Must be punctual and work a set schedule each quarter during the library's open hours.
- Must be willing to ask questions if unsure about something.
