Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled electronics student to join our team as an EET Teaching and Lab Assistant (TA). The successful candidate will assist faculty members in various aspects of course instruction, including but not limited to providing academic assistance to students, correcting assignments, and supporting other classroom activities. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in teaching and mentoring, while also enhancing your skills and knowledge in the field of Electrical Engineering Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
These responsibilities, including the tasks listed below, may not cover every possible duty, and can also include additional responsibilities agreed upon by the instructor and the student. Any class-specific expectations will be discussed before the term begins or at the time of hiring, whichever comes first.
- Assist faculty members in various aspects of course instruction, including but not limited to providing academic assistance to students, correcting assignments, and supporting classroom and lab activities.
- Collaborate with faculty members to develop and deliver instructional materials that are engaging, relevant, and effective.
- Provide feedback to students and assist faculty members with correcting homework, assignments, and exams prior to the faculty member(s) doing the final grading and entering grades into the learning management system.
- Attend lectures, take notes, and actively participate in discussions and other activities.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to faculty members regarding individual or group performance.
- Support students in developing their technical and communication skills and encourage them to pursue their academic and career goals.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and learning practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by faculty members to support student success.
Hours will vary by course(s) the TA will be supporting, but typically will require 4-8 hours a week per course. TAs must be available on-campus during the scheduled class time for the class(es) they will support.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have passed the applicable class with a 2.5 or higher or have instructor permission.
- Must not be on academic probation
- Must maintain passing grades during the term of employment
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and technical communication skills.
- Consistent collaboration with a willingness to listen
- Ability to adapt to student needs and the learning environment
- Engage with students at their level while demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Willingness to model how to ask for help and seek assistance from others and the instructor.
