Job Description

An electronics engineering technologist does more hands-on work in applied engineering than an electrical engineer (who is focused on design and development of new technologies). In the workforce, electronics engineering technologists implement systems that electrical engineers design. An electronics engineering technologist might do quality control tests for a manufacturer, diagnose problems with the power grid for an electric utility company, or work in sales for an electronics manufacturer.

The electronics technologist, with a broad foundation in electronics, works with sophisticated test equipment, computer hardware and software for technical applications, and in manufacturing or servicing all types of electronic equipment.
