Eligibility and Interest Form
The goal of BE-STEM is to help students achieve success in STEM majors and careers. Students are eligible to participate in BE-STEM if they meet the following criteria:
- Underrepresented in STEM – Women, veterans, students with disabilities, Students of Color, and First-Generation Students
- Enrolled in classes at North Seattle College
- Pursuing a STEM transfer degree with the goal of transferring into a STEM bachelor’s program –Application Development, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Information Technology, Mathematics and Physics
- Pursuing a STEM professional technical degree, or certificate with the goal of entering the STEM workforce – Electronics Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology and IT Controlled Electronics

*Underrepresented students include those who identify as Black/African American, Latinx/Hispanic American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, Native Pacific Islanders and Filipino. Representation in STEM fields for these groups is much lower than it should be based on the ethnic composition of our general population. Please review the NSF website for more information.
