Caroline Pew (she/her)
Hi, I'm Caroline, a Seattleite born and raised, and a true Pacific Northwesterner at heart. As a queer, social justice advocate, abolitionist, educator, and climate scientist, I cherish the vibrant community and natural beauty of this region. I teach chemistry and natural sciences at North Seattle College, where I am not only a faculty member but also an alumni. My connection to North Seattle College runs deep, and it inspires me to support other students as they navigate their college journey.
By day, I unravel the mysteries of the periodic table and encourage an appreciation for the natural world in my students. My evenings are spent indulging my artistic side—writing short stories and plays, planning short films, and performing. Weekends are dedicated to cooking, reading, binge-watching favorite shows, and diving into DIY projects in my garage. During the COVID lockdown, I transformed an old passenger van into a dry camper, which now serves as a means to explore the PNW's stunning landscape with my wife and our beloved dogs. As a devoted wife, I value the balance between work and home life, recognizing the importance of strong relationships and support systems. I am excited to bring my enthusiasm for learning and mentorship to my facilitation of this HDC 101 Orientation to College Success course. I look forward to learning with you and supporting you toward a successful college journey. Let's embark on this adventure together, learning and growing every step of the way.
