Dr. Pei Liao (she/her)

I’m currently a full-time faculty counselor at North Seattle College, where I feel grateful to support students as they navigate challenges and discover their strengths. I’m also a licensed psychologist in both Washington and New York.
Originally from Taiwan, I came to the U.S. as an international student and earned my doctorate in School Psychology from the University of Washington. My training has included diverse settings such as the Auburn School District, Bellevue School District, Seattle Children’s Hospital, the Hawaii Psychology Internship Consortium in Kauai, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety & Related Disorders (CUCARD) – Westchester at Irving Medical Center.
In my role as a remote licensed psychologist, I provide telehealth-based psychotherapy to college and university students from a wide range of backgrounds across all 50 states. I am also fluent in Mandarin and appreciate working with individuals from diverse cultural experiences.
These professional and personal experiences have deepened my passion for creating a safe, supportive space where individuals feel heard, build resilience, and move toward growth and healing. I believe in a holistic, collaborative approach to learning—working together with students to develop meaningful strategies that support their well-being and personal development. I am excited to meet you at the HDC 101 class at North!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature—whether visiting local parks, exploring new coffee shops, or going on hikes. These moments help me recharge and stay grounded.
