The Accounting, with International Accounting (AIA) B.A.S. degree incorporates an internship into the program curriculum. These courses contribute to a significant applied, hands-on learning focus for the applied baccalaureate degree, giving students real world experience that they can bring to their future careers.
Accounting, with International Accounting Internship
In fulfilling an important part of the applied component of this degree, AIA students will gain valuable industry experience by completing an Accounting internship. Students will be eligible to participate in an internship as early as spring quarter of their first year in the program. The internship is a perfect way for AIA BAS students to gain real world experience, develop industry contacts, and explore areas of interest within the field.
While students are responsible for securing their own internship, they are supported throughout the process with internship search assistance, resume review, interviewing practice, industry contact opportunities, and access to a program specific job board listing available opportunities.
Program staff, along with the internship coordinator, are committed to assisting students in finding the right internship. A preparatory workshop will be offered the first year to help students get started. It is recommended that students meet with the internship coordinator at least two quarters ahead of doing their internship.
