What to Expect

Paper checklist with pen icon blueOnce you've been been accepted into the Running Start program, you will be contacted via email to schedule an appointment for a group registration session where an advisor will help you register for classes.

You are also encouraged to attend an online or in-person orientation session. These orientations for newly enrolled students are offered a couple of weeks before the start of every quarter, and will help prepare you for the college environment and academic expectations.

How to Be Successful

  1. Meet with your Running Start advisor to learn more about degrees, course selection and requirements for your desired major.
  2. Complete a new student orientation session before the start of your first quarter of college.
  3. Keep your parents or guardians and family members involved. Let them know about classes you are taking, share what you are learning and reach out for advice when you need help.

If you aren't sure what your next steps should be, check our Get Started page for more information about the enrollment process.
