Humanities & Arts
Interested in a career in the arts and humanities? Students can learn or refine their skills at North Seattle College in one of our robust programs. North’s Arts Program provides a solid foundation in classical art, coupled with an emphasis on a range of crafts not generally taught in community colleges. The wide array of affordable courses includes ceramics, drawing, computer art, 2-D and 3-D design, metal design, printmaking, painting, jewelry-making, and sculpture — as well as art history. All classes are transferable and fulfill general education requirements for an Associate of Arts degree or a specialized Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree.
North is one of a handful of colleges in the country to offer a 2-year Associate of Fine Arts degree in Art, as well as a one-year Certificate of Fine Arts (CFA) in Art and a 4-quarter Certificate in Jewelry Design (through one of the few jewelry-making programs in the state.)
