50th Anniversary Mural

We are excited to share that the NSC Art Council is leading the charge for a new mural to commemorate the 50th Anniversary. The mural will celebrate NSC's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and will honor the land and history of the college. Last fall, the Art Council announced a call for an Indigenous artist to design a dynamic, innovative mural, and this spring the students of ART 204: Mural Art will paint the mural on our campus. This will be the first campus mural on the east side of campus and will welcome students and community members from the parking lot and the newly constructed pedestrian bridge. We will share updates about the mural throughout the year.

50th Anniversary Sculpture

Lynne Hull, visual arts faculty, is designing a sculpture to honor the anniversary. Using foundation rocks from NSC’s original building, Lynne is creating a cairn sculpture that will serve as a symbol to mark this moment in the college’s history.

Time Capsule Reveal

A time capsule from 1970 is buried at the entrance to campus. This year, we’ll find out what treasures NSC employees buried for us 50 years ago. We’ll also collect treasures for a new time capsule that the next generation will discover.

Details and more information will be shared throughout the year. We look forward to celebrating the incredible work of the North Seattle College community!
